Are you eating or seriously reading an article?
I got onto a subway and began reading after I found myself a seat. Two stops went by and a woman came in and sat adjacent to me. I continued to read. Then there was some smell sniffing in my nose. It wasn’t some pee smell from some homeless person who entered into the train. It was actually the woman who started eating french fries from MacDonald’s. On her lap she had a stack of papers that appeared to be some school literature text, stapled.
She just couldn’t stop munching the fries from the paper bag and dipping each fry into the tiny ketchup packet. Her hand tactfully holding the packet so that it doesn’t spill or drop onto the “interesting” article that she was supposed to read. Her other hand went into and out of the paper bag every few seconds. It was surprising to see how she had two hands busy and eyes focused on the food, and still be able to read. Obviously she wasn’t reading at all - not even a paragraph!
The distracting noise she was making while eating, and her poor mannerism was annoying indeed. She was licking her fingers and dipping fries into every corner of the ketchup packet she could find! I don’t like the idea of eating food in a subway. The subway is dirty enough so please respect others by not making it even more unpleasant.
